Johnny Randel--Still in My Heart

Discoveries: Ronettes—Born to Be Together; Temptations--My Girl

One non-BB hit debuts this week—Johnny Randel’s “Still in My Heart,” which will peak here at number 34.  And one Bubbling Underer—former University of Washington fratboys the Brothers Four doing another version of West Side Story’s “Somewhere,” which was number 131 in Billboard and will get to number 14 here.  The others all did about as well here as elsewhere, except for two: Johnny Rivers’ “Cupid,” which will peak at number 8 in a few weeks but in Billboard only got to number 76—nationally it was the other side of the record, “Midnight Special,” which was bigger, reaching number 20.  (Here at KJR the record will eventually get turned over.)  And the Temptations' "My Girl," a national number one hit, will rise slightly here next week to number 41 and then drop off the survey.
