Billy Thorpe--Over the Rainbow

No Discovery.

The sole non-BB debut this week is by young crooner Chris Crosby (nephew of Bing, son of Bob), whose “Only the Young” will reach number 26 here.  “Sometimes” by Paul Revere & the Raiders Bubbled Under at number 131, but will get to number 8 here, and Australian superstar Billy Thorpe’s version of “Over the Rainbow,” which barely beat “Sometimes” nationally by getting to number 130, will be number 47 here next week and then drop off the survey.  Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke’s “Mary Poppins” hit was number 66 at Billboard but will reach number 15 at KJR.  And Al Hirt rates another mention here with his “Al’s Place” (57 BB/28 KJR).
