Discovery: Ventures—Slaughter on Tenth Avenue

The only debut this week that didn’t make the BB Hot 100 was “Gale Winds,” an instrumental by the Egyptian Combo, which Bubbled Under at number 103 but here will make it to number 22 in two weeks.  Also significantly more popular in Seattle than nationally were “All Cried Out” (41 BB/6 KJR), “I’ve Got Sand in My Shoes” (33/11), “Garden in the Rain” (97/29) and “Up Above My Head” (85/17).

“Matchbox” was dropped from the listing at number 14 this week, leaving “Slow Down” to be listed alone for the record’s final three weeks on the survey.

The Four Tops and the Beach Boys both make big jumps into the top ten.
