Discovery: Al Martino—Always Together

Huge debut for “I Should Have Known Better,” which was the b-side of “A Hard Day’s Night” and only reached number 53 in Billboard, though it won’t get any higher here than it is this week.  In June we had two weeks with no Beatles, now suddenly they’ve got four records in the top eight with another on the rise.

All this week’s debuts were Hot 100 hits.  The only other one worth mentioning in terms of KJR/BB disparity is the Tokens’ “He’s in Town,” which hit number 43 in BB and will get to number 11 here.
