Discovery: Gene Pitney—I’m Gonna Be Strong

Big leaps by J. Frank Wilson and the Miracles to get into the top ten.

All this week’s debuts were Hot 100 hits.  Jerry Lee Lewis’ “High Heel Sneakers” only got to number 91 in BB but will reach number 25 here in two weeks.  On the other hand, “Ask Me” by Elvis Presley was a number 12 Billboard hit but will only reach number 31 here.
