The Rolling Stones and Kinks jump into the top ten in their second week on the survey.

No Beatles, for the first time in a while; they’ll be back next week.

One non-BB debut this week, “That’s What I Want” by the Liverpool Five, which will make it to number 34 here.  The Five were from England, though none of them were from Liverpool, and around this time they decided it would be a good idea to settle in the US.  Why they chose Spokane I have no idea, but that’s what happened, and for the next few years they were very popular in the Northwest.  “Here Comes the Night” by Them, Van Morrison’s group, was a number 24 Billboard hit that will quickly rise to number 6 here.

Tom Jones’ “What’s New Pussycat” is listed on the survey as by “Jones-Bacharach” this week only.
