Marvin Gaye--Ain't That Peculiar

“Try to Remember” by the Brothers Four, a number 91 Billboard hit, debuts at number 28 in a combined listing with the fading “What Now My Love”—despite the fact that the two songs were two separate releases, not two sides of the same single.  This unnatural pairing will drop off the survey next week.

The other debuts were all top 30 BB hits except one: “I Must Be Doing Something Wrong” was a non-Billboard hit by Kansas folk-rock group the Blue Things, and it will reach number 32 here.  Elvis Presley’s “Puppet on a String” peaked at number 14 in Billboard, but will be a number one hit at KJR; conversely, Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar,” a number 8 BB hit, will top out at number 43 here.
