A lot of shakeup due to the two-week gap between
surveys. Eleven debuts this week, and
the Statler Brothers’ “Flowers on the Wall” drops off from all the way up at
number six.
High debuts for two tracks from the Beatles’ Rubber Soul
album, “Michelle” at number two and “Norwegian Wood” at number 19. Neither, of course, made the Billboard
charts, since they weren’t singles. Also
a non-BB debut is Mel Carter’s “I Wish I Didn’t Love You So,” the b-side of
number 50 Billboard hit “Love is All We Need.”
“I Wish I Didn’t Love You So” will peak here at number 24, and then KJR
will turn the record over and start playing “Love is All We Need.” Al Hirt’s “The Arena” Bubbled Under at number
129; it’ll get to number 17 at KJR.
Other significant disparities are the Supremes’ “My World is Empty
Without You” (5BB/20KJR), “Andrea” by the Sunrays (41/21) and “Tijuana Taxi” by
Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass (38/16).
