Steff--Where Did She Go

The two sides of the Beatles record reverse their order this week; they’ll do it some more.

All the week’s debuts made Billboard, though two only Bubbled Under.  Charlie Rich’s “I Can’t Go On” was a number 132 BB hit that will peak at number 38 here, while “Where Did She Go” by Steff was number 124 in Billboard and will get to number 40 here.  Steff was a guy, a singer from Switzerland who had some popularity in Europe, and recorded “Where Did She Go” in the US in an attempt at an American hit (which obviously met with limited success).

Among the others, “I’m Satisfied” by the San Remo Golden Strings, who sound like they should be a European easy-listening group but were actually a soul instrumental band, was a number 89 Billboard hit that will get up to number 21 here.  Dino, Desi & Billy’s “Please Don’t Fight It” peaked at number 60 in BB but will make it to number 25 here.  And the Four Tops’ “Something About You” got to number 19 nationally but will drop off the KJR survey
