Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe” plunges off the survey from number 11; next week it’ll be back, at number 27.  Perhaps it was inadvertently omitted this week.

The Beatles debut way up at number 8 with “Yesterday”/”Act Naturally;” KJR will actually be listing it not as by the Beatles but as by Paul/Ringo.  Starting next week it will spend five weeks at number one; in Billboard the two sides were listed separately, with “Yesterday” spending four weeks at number one and “Act Naturally” peaking at number 47.

All the other debuts were also top 50 Billboard hits.  Patty Duke’s “Say Something Funny” was a number 22 BB hit that will reach number two here.  Glen Campbell’s version of the protest song “The Universal Soldier” got to number 45 in Billboard but will reach number 3 here.  And Mississippi garage band the Gants will peak at number 21 with their version of “Road Runner,” which topped out at number 46 in Billboard.
