Nancy and Lee plummet from number three to number 22.
One non-BB debut this week: Seattle’s Springfield Rifle,
with the spacy/punky/pop-rock “100 or Two,” which will make it up to number
21. “What’s That Got to Do With Me” by
husband-and-wife duo Jim & Jean will edge up to number 47 next week and
then drop off; in Billboard it only got to number 123. Bobby Vinton’s “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”
(no, it’s not that song) was a number 66 Billboard hit which will peak at
number 18 here. And “The Loser (With a
Broken Heart)” by Gary Lewis & the Playboys, which jumps over Peter
Courtney’s “The Loser,” will make it to number 23 here versus number 43 in
Billboard. Both the Bobby Vinton and
Gary Lewis records will peak in their third week on the survey and then fall
completely off.
