Brenda & the Tabulations--Dry Your Eyes

As mentioned last week, “Happy Together” returns after going
AWOL for a week. Other than that, there
are only four debuts. One will do about
as well here as in Billboard, Jerry Jaye’s “My Girl Josephine,” a rockabilly
record that sounds very out of place for 1967.
“There is Love,” a ballad by Jim Valley, is a non-BB record that will
get all the way to number five; by this time Jim had left Paul Revere & the
Raiders after a short stint, following time with Don & the Goodtimes and
the Viceroys. The other two debuts will
not do as well here as nationally: Arthur Conley’s “Sweet Soul Music”
(2BB/24KJR) and Brenda & the Tabulations’ “Dry Your Eyes” (20/50).
