Nancy Sinatra--In Our Time

Big leap for the Animals (with Eric Burdon now getting top billing).

The pair of Rolling Stones songs debuting this week have the notation on the survey “not available on records.”  “Out of Time” had at this point recently been released on the UK version of the album Aftermath, but it did not appear on the US version.  “Fortune Teller” would appear on the live album Got Live If You Want It later in 1966, but it had already been released as a single in Australia earlier in 1966 and, originally, on a UK compilation album in early 1964.  I don’t know how KJR happened to get these two songs at this time, or why they are linked together as a single survey entry.  They will peak next week at number five.

One other non-BB debut this week: “That’s the Way It’s Gonna Be,” by Californian Lee Mallory, which will get to number 31 here.  Among the others, it’s worth noting that Paul Revere & the Raiders’ “The Great Airplane Strike,” a number 20 BB hit, will reach number six next week, Bobby Hebb’s version of the old country song “A Satisfied Mind” will make it to number 19 here versus its Billboard peak of number 39, and Brenda Lee’s “Coming On Strong,” which got to number 11 in Billboard, will get no higher than number 32 here.
