All the week’s debuts were Billboard hits.  Pleasant pop-rocker “(We Wear) Lavender Blue” by Finders Keepers Bubbled Under at number 123 there, while it will get to number 22 here.  Jazz flutist Herbie Mann’s “Philly Dog” was a number 93 BB hit that will make it up to number 29 here.  B.J. Thomas’ “Billy and Sue” peaked at number 34 in Billboard but will climb to number 8 at KJR.  “It Hurts Me” by Bobby Goldsboro, a number 70 BB hit, will do a bit better here and make it to number 43.  And Tommy Roe’s “Hooray For Hazel” was number six in Billboard, which doesn’t allow much room for it to do better here, but it will get to number one and stay there for four weeks.
