Sam the Sham--I Couldn't Spell !!*@!

Sam the Sham, without the Pharaohs, will get to number 25 with his “I Couldn’t Spell !!*@!,” which was only number 120 in Billboard (the “!!*@!” represents a raspberry sound).  The Moody Blues’ “Ride My See-Saw,” very well remembered as number 61 hits go, will get up to number 30 here.  The 5th Dimension’s “Sweet Blindness” got to number 13 in Billboard but will only make number 37 here.  The other two debuts will come relatively close to their national rankings—“White Room” by Cream (6BB/11KJR) and “Those Were the Days” by Mary Hopkin, in my memory the most omnipresent song of late 1968 next to “Hey Jude,” (2/3).

Back-to-back for the third consecutive week we have Al Wilson and Canned Heat, a group with a member named Al Wilson.
