As mentioned last time, Aretha Franklin’s “The House That Jack Built” drops off and leaves “I Say a Little Prayer” on its own.

Nine debuts, all of which were Top 40 Billboard hits.  A good week for bubblegum: “Quick Joey Small,” a number 25 BB hit, will go to number four here, and Seattle’s love affair with Andy Kim continues with “Shoot ‘Em Up, Baby,” a number 31 national hit that will shoot all the way to number two.  Seattle’s Jimi Hendrix wil get to number six with “All Along the Watchtower,” a number 20 BB hit.  The Avant-Garde, a duo that included Chuck Woolery, just made the Billboard Top 40 at number 40 with “Naturally Stoned,” while here it will make it to number 19.  On the down side, the O’Kaysions’ “Girl Watcher,” a number five BB hit, will stop at number 14 here, and Clarence Carter’s “Slip Away” will not come close to its number six Billboard peak, only getting to number 26 here.
