“Windy” blows up the chart from 33 to 7; “A Day in the Life” follows in its slipstream from 38 to 11.

Two more Sgt. Pepper cuts are added.  “She’s Leaving Home” will peak at number 26, while “When I’m Sixty-Four” will get to number 23.  The other four debuts were all Top 20 Billboard hits and will all be Top 20 here, though “A Whiter Shade of Pale” will only get to number 17 versus its BB peak of number five.

The survey gets a little “Whiter” with the debuts of “Whiter Shade of Pale” and “White Rabbit."  [A personal aside: Those were both songs that my mother hated, as was “Nights in White Satin.”]

“Light My Fire” will spend 19 weeks on the survey, the most we have seen so far.
