Keith--Daylight Savin' Time
|
The Beatles and the Monkees both have new albums out, albums
with no songs released as singles, so KJR is playing a cut from each. “A Day in the Life” will peak at number six
(in only five weeks on the survey) and “I’ll Spend My Life With You” will peak
at number 14 (in only four weeks on the survey). More songs from Sgt. Pepper will be added to
the KJR playlist, but no more from Headquarters.
Pop classic “My World Fell Down” by studio group Sagittarius
(featuring vocals by Glen Campbell and Beach Boy Bruce Johnston), a number 70
BB hit, will make it up to number 13 here.
“Black Sheep” by Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs, with a “less
respectable people can be more honorable than more respectable people” message
reminiscent of “Sometimes Good Guys Don’t Wear White” by the Standells, peaked
at number 68 in Billboard but will get to number 36 here. And “Daylight Savin’ Time” by Keith will peak
next week at number 40, beating its number 79 national peak.
Jim Valley’s “There is Love” plummets from number seven to
number 36, while “Happy Jack” by the Who falls completely off the survey from
number 23.
With “San Francisco” and Sgt. Pepper joining the Jefferson
Airplane on the chart, it’s beginning to look like the Summer of Love around
here…
