A number of big jumps within the survey—this week’s number 3, 4, 9 and 11 hits were 18, 26, 38 and 42 last week.

Two non-BB debuts.  Don & the Goodtimes’ version of “Sweets For My Sweet” will only be on the survey this one week.  As mentioned last time, Ronnie Dove’s record gets turned over this week and the b-side, “I’m Learning How to Smile Again,” is on the survey for the first of three weeks—it won’t get any higher than its number 25 this week.  “Red Hot” by Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs, a number 82 Billboard hit, will get up to number 27 here.

Give Seattle credit—“The Ballad of the Green Berets” will only be number one for two weeks here, as opposed to its five weeks nationally.
