The Rolling Stones jump from 42 to 13, but the Beatles still manage to leapfrog them by debuting at number 11 with “Nowhere Man.”

As mentioned previously, starting this week “Batman” is credited jointly to Neal Hefti and the Marketts.  And, as mentioned last time, Roger Miller’s record is turned over in favor of “Husbands and Wives,” a number 26 BB pop hit (and number 5 country) which will peak at number 10 here.  (Incidentally, Jan & Dean's "Batman" is an original song, not another version of the theme.)

All the debuts were Hot 100 hits except for one Bubbling Under: “Don’t Make Me Over” by the Swinging Blue Jeans, which got to number 116 there but will make it up to number 17 here.  Other significant discrepancies: Norma Tanega (22BB/9KJR), the Sir Douglas Quintet (31/8), Lyme (Warren Zevon) & Cybelle (65/22) and the Marvelettes (7/20).
