“You Baby” by the Turtles was number 19 last week, is off the survey this week, and is number 21 next week, which makes me think that its exclusion this week was a mistake.

All the week’s debuts were Hot 100 hits.  Several did noticeably better or worse here: Deon Jackson’s “Love Makes the World Go Round” (11BB/28KJR), Wilson Pickett’s “634-5789” (13/36), the Poppies’ “Lullaby of Love” (clearly “inspired” by “A Lover’s Concerto” by the Toys)(56/30), “Spanish Flea” by Herb Alpert (27/12), and the Ventures’ version of “Secret Agent Man” (54/19).
