Orpheus--Brown Arms in Houston

The non-BB b-side “Any Day Now” joins “In the Ghetto” this week, and the two will be listed jointly for the rest of their time on the survey.  There are just four other debuts.  “Crossroads of the Stepping Stones” by New York band Elephant’s Memory was a number 120 Billboard “hit” that will get to number twelve here.  The Monkees make their final appearance at KJR with “Listen to the Band,” which will peak at number 29, versus just number 63 in Billboard.  “My Pledge of Love” by the Joe Jeffrey Group was a number 14 national hit that will stop at number 21 here, though it will spend nine weeks on the survey.  And the soft rock “Brown Arms in Houston” by Massachusetts group Orpheus will be number 47 next week and then drop off, while nationally it only got to number 91.
