Donovan jumps 28 spots.  Hail Atlantis!

One non-Billboard debut this week: “The Sidewalks of the Ghetto” by Eternity’s Children, whom we heard from in 1968 with “Mrs. Bluebird.”  This one will get to number 32.  The other debuts were all Hot 100 hits, including “In the Bad, Bad Old Days” by the Foundations (51BB/16KJR), “It’s Only Love” by B.J. Thomas (45/25), and “To Know You is to Love You” (a reworking of “To Know Him is to Love Him”) by Bobby Vinton (34/15).  Failing to live up to their national popularity will be Andy Williams’ “Happy Heart” (22/39) and the Guess Who’s “These Eyes” (6/12, though it’ll spend 14 weeks on the survey).  That leaves only Engelbert Humperdinck, so I’ll mention that his “The Way it Used to Be” will peak next week at number 35, pretty close to its number 42 national showing.

There are ten one-word titles in the survey this week, which seems like a lot, but I never counted them before so it might not be.
