Joe Simon--The Chokin' Kind

The top ten stays almost the same, with one arriving, one leaving, and the others all within two spots of where they were last week.

The Beatles jump in with the highest debut we’ve seen in a while.

Of the ten debuts, one did not make Billboard: the pop-psych “Cherry Pie” by Cincinnati’s Sixth Day Creation, which will drop off the survey next week.  Merrilee Rush’s “Everyday Livin’ Days” will rise to number nine, but in BB it only made it to number 130.  Most of the others will do about as well here as elsewhere, the exceptions being the Box Tops’ “I Shall Be Released” (67BB/32KJR) and Joe Simon’s “The Chokin’ Kind” (13/40).

“Get Back” and “Day is Done” were both big favorites of nine-year-old me.
