Tom Jones--Not Responsible

Big jumps by the Troggs and Tommy Roe.

Only six debuts this week; all did better here than nationally, though not all significantly so.  Seattle’s Dave Holden (older brother of Ron, who had the Top Ten 1960 hit “Love You So”) will have just this one week on the survey with his non-BB version of “Hundred Pounds of Clay.”  The Shindogs were the house band on the TV show Shindig; their record “Who Do You Think You Are” will reach number 5 here, whereas in Billboard it will only get to number 91, and that won’t happen until September.  The others: “Pretty Flamingo” by Manfred Mann (29BB/10KJR), “The Joker Went Wild” by Brian Hyland (20/9), and “Not Responsible” by Tom Jones (58/41).
