Trade Winds--Mind Excursion

You can’t jump much higher than from 50 to 2.  The two sides of the Beatles record have the top two spots in the survey.  Plus, two tracks from their new album Revolver debut this week.  And “Drive My Car,” from the previous LP, drops all the way off from number seven.

“See You in September” by the Happenings returns after a week’s absence.

Other than the two Beatles LP cuts, all the debuts were Billboard hits, most of them big ones.  “Mind Excursion” by the Trade Winds was a number 51 BB hit that will reach number seven here; conversely, Lee Dorsey’s “Working in the Coal Mine” was a number eight BB hit that will get no higher than this week’s number 42 position.  The other debuts were all top twenty Billboard hits that will be top twenty KJR hits.
