Discoveries:  Beach Boys—Don’t Worry Baby, Bobby Vinton--Tell Me Why

Last week the Beatles’ “Love Me Do” was number 1; this week its b-side “P.S. I Love You” takes over the spot in its first week on the survey, while “Love Me Do” drops to number 8.  There is one new non-Billboard hit, Lesley Gore’s “It’s Gotta Be You.”  This was the b-side of the national hit “I Don’t Wanna Be a Loser,” and after a few weeks KJR will switch to playing that side as well.  Last week’s Discovery, “I’ll Touch a Star” by Terry Stafford, was a number 25 Billboard hit that will eventually reach number 5 here; the other new songs this week all perform comparably at KJR as at Billboard.

One more note: This week both sides of Billy J. Kramer's record are listed; previously it was only "Little Children," but this week it's "Little Children"/"Bad to Me."  They'll be listed jointly for one more week, after which "Little Children drops off and "Bad to Me" continues on its own for several more weeks.
