The new entries this week were all Billboard Hot 100 hits, though the Simon Sisters (teenage Carly and her sister Lucy) and the Overlanders only made it into the 70s there and the Wailers just barely made the Top 40.  The Wailers, from Tacoma, were the kings of western Washington, and "Tall Cool One," a 1959 hit of theirs enjoying a resurgence, will peak at number 5 here at KJR in a few weeks.  Peter and Gordon's debut at number 17 is impressive.

Note: "Thank You Girl" is listed as having been number 29 last week, but actually "Do You Want to Know a Secret" was--they turned the record over this week.
