People suddenly got sick of “The Unicorn”—it drops off from number 21, and the week before that it was number nine.

One debut was not a Billboard hit—easy listening instrumental “Elvira Madigan Theme/Honey” (a medley, not a two-sided hit) by the Distant Galaxy.  It’ll peak here at number 35.  Burl Ives’ version of Bob Dylan’s “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight” just barely made Billboard, squeaking into the Bubbling Under list at number 133; here it’ll go to number 38.

Of the other debuts, the only one that will do significantly better here than nationally is the Monkees’ “D.W. Washburn,” which to me is the first thing they ever did that wasn’t great.  It was a number 19 BB hit, but will get to number four here.  “Stoned Soul Picnic” by the 5th Dimension will only make it to number 17 here, falling short of its number three Billboard peak.
