As mentioned last time, this week Tiny Tim tip-toes all the way from number 46 to number 19.

“Sleepy Joe” returns after a week away.

All six of the week’s debuts were top 60 Billboard hits.  “Here Come the Judge” by the Magistrates was one of a number of similarly-titled songs from 1968, all inspired by a routine by comedian Pigmeat Markham.  This one was a number 54 BB hit that will get up to number 18 here; I had not realized until today that the Magistrates were basically the same group as the Dovells, who had early-60s hits “Bristol Stomp” and “You Can’t Sit Down.”

We saw Spanish band Los Bravos here once before, in 1966 with “Black is Black;” “Bring a Little Lovin’” peaked at number 51 in Billboard but will make it to number 24.  The Cowsills’ “Indian Lake” will go all the way to number two, beating its BB peak of number ten.  Coming up short will be “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing,” a number eight national hit that’ll peak here next week at number 33, and “Classical Gas,” number two nationally versus number 17 here in Seattle.
