A lot of up and down movement this week (tying in with the
debut of “Ups and Downs”), including two records dropping off the survey from
the top 20 (“Little Black Egg” and “Wild Thing”).
KJR drops “Ruby Tuesday” from the playlist, with “Let’s
Spend the Night Together” remaining at number one by itself. It’ll stay by itself for the rest of its time
on the survey.
“Sit Down, I Think I Love You” returns after a week’s
absence.
The Ventures’ version of “Theme From ‘The Wild Angels’” only
got to number 110 in Billboard, but it’ll make it to number 15 here. Despite debuting at number 21, “Sock it to
Me-Baby!” by Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels will not match its number six
position in Billboard and will only get as high as number 14 here. Ramsey Lewis’ version of Len Barry’s 1965 hit
“One, Two, Three” was a number 67 BB hit that is debuting here at number 38,
but that’s as high as it will go. And
the aforementioned “Ups and Downs” by Paul Revere & the Raiders, a number
22 Billboard hit, will rise to number nine here.
