Jack Wild--Wait For Summer

“As the Years Go By” and “War” make big jumps.

“Long As I Can See the Light” drops off, and “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” continues alone for the rest of its time on the survey.

One non-Billboard song debuts: the Beach Boys’ “Tears in the Morning,” a ballad written and sung by Bruce Johnston, which will get to number 43.  H.R. Pufnstuf’s Jack Wild has his second and final KJR hit with “Wait For Summer,” which will get to number 28, versus its number 115 BB peak.

Also worth mentioning are Christie’s “Yellow River” (23BB/7KJR), pop-soul ballad “Do What You Wanna Do” by Five Flights Up (37BB/20KJR), and James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain,” which will spend 15 weeks on the survey despite only making it up to number 16 (it was number three nationally).

Between tears, rain and river, a major infusion of water this week.
