Happy Day Singers--Have a Happy Day

Only four debuts this week.  “Have a Happy Day” by the Happy Day Singers never made Billboard, despite being a perfect representation of the early 70s; it’ll go to number 20 here.  Rock duo Teegarden & Van Winkle, from Tulsa then Detroit, will almost-exactly duplicate their number 22 national peak with “God, Love and Rock & Roll,” getting to number 21.  It seems like it was a bigger hit, but CSNY’s “Our House” only got to number 30 in BB; it’ll do a bit better here, number 19.  And Aretha Franklin’s “Don’t Play That Song,” a number eleven BB hit, will stop at number 45.
