Last week “Which Way You Goin’ Billy?” jumped from number
ten to number two; this week it drops back down to number ten. Where it’ll be again next week.
Back-to-back Greaves!
One non-BB debut this week: Buffalo’s The Road will get to
number 33 with their soundalike version of the Buffalo Springfield’s
three-year-old “Mr. Soul.” Austin’s The
Clique make the survey for the third and final time with “Sparkle and Shine,”
produced and co-written (and sounding just like) Tommy James; it just made it
to number 100 in Billboard, and will get to number 44 here. Brook Benton’s “Rainy Night in Georgia” will
stop at number 29; it was a number four hit nationally.
