City Zu--Eeny Meeny
|
We last saw Bellevue’s City Zu in December 1967; they’re
back with their second and final record on the survey, “Eeny Meeny,” also
non-Billboard. It’ll get to number
40. Gary Lewis & the Playboys only
made it to number 101 in Billboard with the sunshine-pop-bubblegum “Main
Street,” which will peak here next week at number 33.
Eddie Floyd’s version of “Bring it on Home to Me,” a number
17 national hit, will inch up to number 46 next week and drop off. The other debuts will all do at least a bit
better here than in BB: “Goody Goody Gumdrops” by the 1910 Fruitgum Co.
(37BB/7KJR), the Sir Douglas Quintet’s “Mendocino” (27/12), Johnny Rivers’ “Right
Relations” (61/30), and “Do Something to Me” by Tommy James & the Shondells
(38/21).
