Brooklyn Bridge Featuring Johnny Maestro--The Worst That Could Happen

All eight of the debuts were Hot 100 hits.  The Brooklyn Bridge’s “The Worst That Could Happen” will exactly match its number three Billboard peak, but all the others will do significantly better or worse: Dusty Springfield’s “Son-of-a Preacher Man” (10BB/1KJR), Dean Martin’s “Not Enough Indians” (43/20), Merrilee Rush’s strange, slowed-down, melodramatic, almost Vanilla Fudgesque version of the Four Tops’ “Reach Out” (79/30), Aretha Franklin’s “See Saw” (14/36), the O’Kaysions’ pop-soul “Love Machine” (76/41), Eric Burdon & the Animals’ “White Houses” (67/29), and the Rascals’ “A Ray of Hope” (24/10).
