The Carpenters’ “Superstar” is joined on the survey by its b-side, “Bless the Beasts and Children” (which, listed separately in Billboard, got to number 67).

The (LP) designation is dropped from “Imagine.”

Only two debuts. Jerry Lee Lewis’ version of “Me and Bobby McGee,” a number 40 BB hit, will get up to number 18, while “Family Affair” by Sly & the Family Stone, which was number one for three weeks nationally, will only make it to number nine.

We have Kris Kristofferson compositions at numbers 35 and 36.
