James Darren--Mammy Blue

John Lennon’s Imagine LP vanishes and is replaced by the title song, listed as an album cut; after two more weeks the (LP) designation will disappear.

Of the eight other debuts, one did not make the Hot 100: early-60s star James Darren with his version of “Mammy Blue,” a number 107 BB hit that will spend just this one week on our survey. Also worth mentioning are “A Natural Man” by Lou Rawls (17BB/3KJR), “Two Divided By Love” by the Grass Roots (16/6), and Coven’s “One Tin Soldier” (26/11).
