Tommy Roe--Stagger Lee

Last week’s top two songs fall significantly.

Neil Diamond’s “I’m a Believer” drops off the survey from number 20.

Rod Stewart’s “Reason to Believe” gets turned over, and it’s all “Maggie May” from here on.

A big shakeup with ten debuts. “Maggie” by Redbone, a number 45 Billboard hit, will get to number 24. Tommy Roe’s version of “Stagger Lee,” number 25 nationally, will go to number four. Aretha Franklin’s version of “Spanish Harlem,” number two for two weeks in BB, will only make it to number 16. And “I Just Want to Celebrate” by Rare Earth, a number seven national hit, will stop at number 21.
