Vin Cardinal--Let the Water Run Down

Badfinger’s “No Matter What” drops off the survey from number 18.

Vin Cardinal is a singer from Trinidad who moved to Sweden in the 60s and became a star there. In the early 70s he tried to make it in the US but failed, though he did get record contracts with both A&M and Motown. His “Let the Water Run Down” was on A&M; I don’t own it, and as far as I know I’ve never heard it. It didn’t make Billboard at all, while here it’ll spend two more weeks on the survey and get to number 38.

Bobby Bloom’s follow-up to “Montego Bay," “Where Are We Going,” was a number 84 BB hit that we’ll see go to number 33. The Chairmen of the Board’s “Pay to the Piper,” number 13 nationally, will only make it to number 43.
