Marvin Gaye--That's the Way Love Is

I guess people very suddenly got sick of “In the Year 2525,” as it drops off the survey all the way from number eight.

Most of this week’s debuts will do significantly better here than they did in Billboard, except for one that will do significantly worse, so I’ll mention each one.  “Something in the Air,” a number one UK hit by British group Thunderclap Newman, peaked at number 37 in Billboard but will get to number eight here.  Jim Ford’s country/soul “Harlan County” only got to number 106 at BB but will make it to number 31 at KJR.  Melodramatic ballad “Echo Park” by former New Christy Minstrel Keith Barbour was a number 40 hit nationally but will go to number 14 here.  “Evil Woman Don’t Play Your Games With Me” by Minneapolis band Crow will make it to number four here, versus its number 19 national peak.  And Marvin Gaye’s “That’s the Way Love Is,” a number seven BB hit, will only get to number 32 here.

“Get Together” and “We Gotta All Get Together” appear back-to-back.

  1. It didn't take me much time at all to get sick of "In The Year 2525." I never could understand why that song was so popular.
