Playhouse--You Don't Know It
|
The Playhouse was a New York studio group made up of
musicians who also played on some Archies and Andy Kim records. “You Don’t Know It” was a
seemingly-Rascals-inspired piece of bubblegum/soul/rock that did not make the
Billboard charts but will get to number 42 in its three weeks on our
survey. British bluesman John Mayall’s “Don’t
Waste My Time” only got to number 81 in Billboard but will go to number 21
here. As usual, Paul Revere & the
Raiders will top their national success here, with “We Gotta All Get Together”
(50BB/23KJR); so will the Four Seasons with “And That Reminds Me” (45/14). Jerry Butler’s “What’s the Use of Breaking
Up,” on the other hand, will come up short of its number 20 BB peak and stop at
number 37.
