This week’s survey is missing from the microfilm of the newspaper, so this week’s positions come from the “Last Week” column of next week’s survey.  I don’t know what songs dropped off between last week and this week, and which ones drop off between this week and next week, nor do I know this week’s positions for the latter, so that’s why there are songs missing from the list.

The week’s debuts were all top 50 hits in Billboard.  Nancy Sinatra’s “Lightning’s Girl” was a number 24 BB hit that will get to number three here.  “What Now My Love” by Mitch Ryder, his first release as a solo artist without the Detroit Wheels, was a number 30 BB hit that will make it to number eight here.  The Rolling Stones’ double-sided hit of “We Love You” and “Dandelion” will drop here from 32 to 42 next week, after which “Dandelion” will drop off the survey and “We Love You” will continue on by itself, peaking at number 17; in Billboard “We Love You” was number 50 and “Dandelion” was number 14.
