“Victoria” by the Kinks only made it to number 62 nationally, but here it’ll make it to number 21.  The other debuts will come pretty close here to their Billboard peaks, with the largest difference being 27BB/17KJR for Bobbie Gentry & Glen Campbell’s version of “All I Have to Do is Dream.”

The only other thing I can think to mention is that “Instant Karma” is probably my favorite hit of the year.

“She” drops off the Tommy James entry, leaving “Loved One” on its own.

Only four debuts this week, and all will do at least a little better here than in Billboard.  Actor Michael Parks, then starring in the TV series “Then Came Bronson,” had a number 20 national hit with “Long Lonesome Highway,” which reminds me of Bobby Darin’s folkie period and which will get to number 14 here.  Vic Dana returns to the survey after almost four years gone, with “If I Never Knew Your Name,” which will get to number 18; it stopped at number 47 in Billboard (though it made number 14 on the Easy Listening chart).  Jackie DeShannon’s “Brighton Hill” only made number 82 at BB but will get to number 27 here.  Detroit band Frijid Pink’s acid rock version of “House of the Rising Sun” was a number seven national hit, but it’ll beat that here and go to number two.
