Isley Brothers--Work to Do

Huge leap for “Convention ’72,” biggest we’ve seen in quite some time.

I’ve always thought of Tower of Power’s “Down to the Nightclub” as a big hit, which it was at KJR, as we’ll be seeing it get to number five, but nationally it only got to number 66. On the other hand, Al Green’s “You Ought to Be With Me,” a number three Billboard hit, will stop at number 20. “Rock ‘n Roll Soul” by Grand Funk (29BB/17KJR) and “Work to Do” by the Isley Brothers (51/29) will both do a bit better here than in BB. That just leaves the Osmonds’ hard-rockin’ “Crazy Horses” (14/10).
