“Rock Me Baby” is the last record by either David Cassidy or
the Partridge Family that we’ll see on the survey, and like just about every
one of the others it’ll do better than it did nationally, number nine versus
number 38. Rod Stewart’s “You Wear it Well” and “True Blue” will get to number
16 as a double-sided hit; in Billboard only “You Wear it Well” was listed,
getting to number 13. The other debuts, all of which will do better here than
in BB, are Billy Preston’s “That’s the Way God Planned It” (65BB/19KJR), “I Believe
in Music” by Gallery (22/5), Jerry Butler and Brenda Lee Eager’s remake of the
Carpenters’ “Close to You” (91/25), and “Dancing in the Moonlight” by King
Harvest (13/4).
