Vigrass & Osborne--Men of Learning

“Day By Day” drops off but will be back in two weeks.

“Don Quixote” returns as “Beautiful”’s B-side.

The Rolling Stones’ entry, which was listed last week as “Stones L.P. – Tumbling Dice-Sweet Black Angel,” is this week listed simply as "Stones album" and next week will be different still, but the last week column always shows that it's considered a continuous entry.

Seven debuts this week, all of which were top 30 Billboard hits but one: “Men of Learning” by British folk-pop-rock duo Vigrass & Osborne, which got to number 65 there and will sit at number 40 here for one more week before dropping off the survey. Of the others, the one that will perform the most differently here versus elsewhere is Tower of Power’s first hit, “You’re Still a Young Man,” a number 29 national hit that will go all the way to number four at KJR. For this week only it is designated as an LP cut. Perhaps also worth mentioning is that Frederick Knight’s “I’ve Been Lonely For So Long” will get to number 16, beating its number 27 BB peak.
