Charley Pride’s “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” was a number one hit on Billboard’s country chart while also getting to number 21 on the pop Hot 100; here it’ll get to number one. Not doing as well here as nationally: Carly Simon’s “Anticipation” (13BB/23KJR), Betty Wright’s “Clean Up Woman” (6/24), and “Hey Big Brother” by Rare Earth (19/37). That leaves “Never Been to Spain” by Three Dog Night (5/2).
