Honey Cone--One Monkey Don't Stop No Show Part I

“Oh Me Oh My,” the b-side to Aretha Franklin’s “Rock Steady,” joins it on the survey. They’ll be listed jointly for the rest of their time on the survey; in Billboard they hit number nine and number 73.

The New Seekers’ version of “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” joins the Hillside Singers’ version as a combined listing. Together they’ll peak at number two here, while in Billboard they made it to number seven and number 13.

John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas” will get to number 19; it didn’t hit the BB Hot 100 because Christmas songs had their own chart (where it got to number three). The other debuts this week were all Billboard top 20, and mostly top ten. Two won’t do as well here as there: Dennis Coffey’s instrumental “Scorpio” (6BB/18KJR) and Honey Cone’s “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show” (15/35).
