Five debuts, all top 40 Billboard hits, but the only one
that’ll do as well here as nationally is the Bells’ “Stay Awhile” (7BB/6KJR).
Paul McCartney’s first solo single “Another Day”/”Oh Woman Oh Why” was a number
five BB hit that will peak at number 14, though by that time only “Another Day”
will be listed. The others are “Mr. Bojangles” by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
(9/19), Santana’s “Oye Como Va” (13/28), and Glen Campbell’s version of “Dream
Baby” (31/42).
